The principal of Bal Kalyan Secondary School in Libang, the district headquarters, has been given a respectful farewell with music and dance. Former principal Madhusudan Pokharel, who had been on compulsory retirement, was bid farewell with grand honors by students, parents and teachers on Wednesday.
Principal Pokharel was taken around the market while playing musical instruments. A rally of about 60 teachers and more than 2,500 students was organized in his honor. Those who came to the rally, including their parents, shouted slogans in his favor, saying that he was a good teacher and principal. After the rally, a farewell program was organized in the school premises.
Speakers discussed the contribution of Pokharel, who has been in the teaching profession for almost 30 years. New Principal Tulsi Prasad Shrestha expressed his commitment that Pokharel played an important role in the educational development of the school and that his leadership would now move forward at the same pace. School Management Committee Chairman Jit Bahadur Dangi said that the contribution of former Principal Pokharel, who taught for a long time, cannot be forgotten.

'Initially, I worked day and night to improve the educational conditions of this school and make it as good as it is today. It has been a very difficult struggle to reach the current state,' he said.
Pokharel had been the principal for 17 years. Under his leadership, who was in favor of educational and economic reform of the school, technical education was also started. Pavitra Gurung, a member of the Teachers' Parents' Association, said that educational development was possible under Pokharel's leadership in this school, one of the oldest in the district. During Pokharel's farewell, the parents presented a token of love. A flax ring was worn on behalf of the school. All the parents present at the program were seen in very emotional expressions at his farewell.
