Two people died in a motorcycle accident in Rupandehi on Monday morning. The motorcycle collided with a truck that was parked at Parasijhuwa, Ward No. 3, Rohini Rural Municipality on the Bhairahawa-Parasi road section, informed Rupandehi Police Spokesperson Deputy Superintendent of Police Suraj Karki.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Karki informed that 21-year-old Raju Harijan of Omsatiya Rural Municipality Ward No. 3 and 23-year-old Rohit Yadav of the same place died in the accident. At around 6 am this morning, while coming from Parasi towards Bhairahawa, a motorcycle with registration number Ga 11 Pa 8625 hit a stopped Indian truck with registration number HR 55 W 031.
Both the seriously injured passengers of the motorcycle were immediately taken to the Universal College of Medical Sciences in Bhairahawa, but they died during treatment, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Karki. Police have taken the truck and its driver under control and are investigating the matter further.
Similarly, the body of a person was found half-submerged in water in Ward No. 3, Darkhaswa, Siddharthanagar Municipality, Rupandehi. At around 8:15 pm today, local residents found the body of a 65-year-old woman in stagnant water on Narayan Singh Thapa's vacant land, said Suraj Karki, Information Officer at the District Police Office, Rupandehi.
The name, surname and address of the deceased have not been revealed yet. Karki said that an expert team has been deployed from the District Police Office, Rupandehi for further investigation to determine the nature of the incident, cause of death and the identity of the deceased woman.
