One hundred students have been distributed bicycles in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha. Bicycles were distributed to students from 10 basic schools in Rupandehi and Kapilvastu on Sunday during a program organized at Akhand Shanti Deep.

Vietnam's Vinh Hoang Vanduk Company and Son Thong Vihar Vietnam, which produce and export seafood, distributed bicycles to poor, needy and talented students.

70 girls and 30 boys from 10 basic schools in Lumbini Cultural Municipality of Rupandehi and Suddhodhan Rural Municipality of Kapilvastu received bicycles. The organizers said that 100 bicycles were distributed to children studying in grades 7 to 11 to increase easy access to schools and support their studies.  Company director Khan Truong and a Vietnamese monk responded that they had accumulated spiritual virtue in Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, upon receiving the bicycles.

At the program, Lumbini Development Fund Senior Information Officer Dr. Haridhwaj Rai said that he was grateful from the bottom of his heart for coming to Lumbini from Vietnam to help Nepali children, motivated by the compassion, friendship and goodwill of Buddha.
