Nisdi jeep accident: Death toll rises to four

Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Palpa, Hom Prakash Chaudhary informed that the Force jeep met with an accident on Friday while it was coming from Arunkhola on the Mahendra Highway in Nawalpur towards Rampur in Palpa.

The death toll in a jeep accident in Mityal, Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, Palpa has reached four.

Sundar BK, 34, of Nawalpur Madhyabindu Municipality-13, died at Purano Medical College, Chitwan during treatment.

Those who died on the spot in the accident are Om Kumari Khamcha, 45, of Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, Mityal Thoksingbas, and Hem Kumari Saru, 36, of Nisdi Rural Municipality-7, Jyamire Huwas, and Buddhimaya BK, 31, of Nawalpur Madhyabindu Municipality-13, according to the District Police Office, Palpa. Sundar and Buddhimaya are husband and wife.

A jeep (Lu 1 Ja 3908) met with an accident at a place called Ekalphoksing near Mityal Chuuribas, Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, under the Rampur-Mityal-Arunkhola road section. Eight passengers were injured in the accident. Police said that 10-year-old Lawis Sunar and 5-year-old Prinsa Sunar are the children of Sundar and Buddhimaya.

Nar Bahadur Sunari, 73, of Nisdi Rural Municipality-4, Mityal Lamedmar, Bhumisara Sunari, 72, and Sunari, 28, of Mityal are undergoing treatment. Mina Kumari is undergoing treatment at the Old Medical College, Chitwan. 

Nar Bahadur and Bhumisara are undergoing treatment at Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital, Nawalparasi. The injured Nawaraj Khamcha, 9, and Salin Khamcha, 5, of Nisdi-4, Mityal, have returned home after treatment.

Hom Prakash Chaudhary, Deputy Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Palpa, informed that the force jeep met with an accident on Friday while coming from Arunkhola on the Mahendra Highway in Nawalpur towards Rampur in Palpa. 

The accident, which took place 75 kilometers away from the district headquarters, Tansen, was due to an uphill dirt road and the jeep could not pull the passengers. The police said that they received information that the jeep overturned while disembarking.
