The names of four people, including outgoing House of Representatives member Sanjay Kumar Gautam, have been unanimously recommended as candidates from Bardiya Constituency No. 1 for the February 21 election to the House of Representatives.

The names of Ratna Tharu, Mahendra Kumar Sharma and Gangadhar Poudel along with Gautam have been recommended from the regional meeting, informed Muktinath Yadav, President of Constituency No. 1 and Mayor of Gulariya Municipality.

Similarly, the names of Mishri Lal Yadav, Tilak Bahadur Budhachhetri, Laxmi Dhakal, Rahis Ahmed Siddiqui, Govinda Prasad Tharu, Kaluram BK and Pushpalal Shrestha have been recommended from the proportional representation side, Yadav said.

Sanjay Gautam has been elected as a member of the House of Representatives three times in a row from Constituency No. 1. He came into the limelight after defeating Bamdev Gautam, who was a candidate from the UML-Maoist alliance.

Similarly, the names of Congress District President Arun Prakash Singh Rathore, Mahendra Raj Tiwari and Javed Khatun Jaga have been recommended for the National Assembly membership. Javed Khatun is a proportional representation member of the outgoing House of Representatives.
