Mahendra Thapa, the head of the National Housing Company, Bardaghat West, Nawalparasi, has been abused by youths from the Communist Youth Organization close to the CPN (Majority).

Youths affiliated with the organization's Lumbini Province Bureau abused and slapped Thapa in the office on Sunday. He was taken into custody for irregularities, delay and bribery in the work related to the rehabilitation project, said the organization's provincial chief Milan Thapa in a statement.

He has been accused of shifting settlements, distributing land, arbitrarily identifying plans, collusion and obstructing the services that citizens should receive.

He is also accused of selling land given for the construction of a trauma center under construction in Bardaghat Municipality-2, Chisapani.
