Lumbini Development Fund Member Secretary Engineer Deepak Shrestha, who was appointed late after the then Chief Secretary Ek Narayan Aryal did not certify the decision made by the Council of Ministers, took office on Wednesday.

Shrestha took charge of the office by appearing at the central office of the Lumbini Development Fund. After the then Chief Secretary Aryal did not certify the decision and did not receive legal recognition, the cabinet meeting held on Mangsir 15 decided to nominate Shrestha again, and he came with a letter and took charge of the office on Wednesday.

Shrestha was appointed as the member secretary by the cabinet meeting on Mangsir 20. Shrestha had worked as an assistant manager in the drinking water organization for a decade and a half. He resigned and became the member secretary of the fund. While taking charge, he said that he would work by making a plan to make Lumbini an excellent spiritual tourist destination.

'I will focus on completing the Lumbini development master plan, which has been incomplete for a long time,' he said, 'I will give priority to the feelings and desires of the locals.' The five-year term of Member Secretary Sanuraja Shakya, appointed by the then Prime Minister KP Oli on 22 Asoj 2077, ended on 10 Asoj. After that, the post of Member Secretary was vacant.
