A house was damaged in a fire in Gulariya Municipality-5, Balapur on Wednesday afternoon.
The fire broke out due to an electrical short circuit in the thatched house of local Lokendra Chaudhary, which was covered with straw and zinc sheets, said Police Inspector Prakash Singh Karki of the District Police Office, Bardiya.
The fire was brought under control with the help of locals, the fire brigade of Gulariya town, and the police. Police Inspector Karki said that the fire completely destroyed the food grains, clothes, and wood in the house. The incident is about 5 km northeast of Gulariya.
