Stating that there is ample investment potential in the agricultural and industrial sectors in Rupandehi, industrialists and businessmen from Bhairahawa have urged Israeli Ambassador to Nepal Shmuel Ari Bass for cooperation.

This was requested by industrialists and businessmen to the ambassador who visited the Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry office on Thursday. In an interaction between Ambassador Bass and the association officials, it was pointed out that knowledge, skills and technology can be exchanged between the two countries. 

The ambassador who came to the association office said that Nepal and Israel have 65 years of diplomatic relations. Ambassador Bass recalled that the late Bisheshwor Prasad Koirala played an important role in strengthening relations between the two countries.

Initially, Nepali farmers were taken to Israel to be taught about agricultural development, modernization and technology, and now students studying agriculture are being taken there. He clarified that he is ready to cooperate in the development of Lumbini, the birthplace of Buddha, and other tourist places. 

During the meeting, Ambassador Bass urged people to learn about Israeli technology and use it in the development of the agricultural sector in Nepal. 

Stating that Israel is ready to partner in the development of every sector of Nepal, he said that necessary cooperation will be done with industrialists and businessmen. He urged them to produce goods for export, he said that Israel will facilitate it. Ambassador Bass expressed his commitment to take the initiative to operate chartered flights from Israel to Gautam Buddha Airport at least during the season, even if regular flights are not possible.

Siddhartha Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Netra Prasad Acharya, Lumbini Province Vice President of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry Kul Prasad Neupane, outgoing president of the association Thakur Kumar Shrestha, and industrialist Keshab Bikram Khadka said that the centuries-old relationship between the two countries should be further strengthened.
