A charging station for electric vehicles has been operational in Jitpur, Banganga Municipality-4, located on the East-West Highway.
The charging station was built with an investment of about 75 lakh rupees by Swabhiman Savings and Loan Cooperative. The station has been operated to provide easy and simple services on the East-West Highway with the aim of promoting green energy and encouraging environmentally friendly transportation.
The station has two state-of-the-art charger machines, said Sagar Ghimire, the manager of the cooperative. The station, which is equipped with an 80 kV capacity 'fast charger', has a system that can charge four vehicles at a time. The station has the capacity to easily charge more than 50 electric vehicles daily and provide service.
Lumbini Provincial Assembly member Bishnu Panthi and Banganga Municipality Mayor Chakrapani Aryal jointly inaugurated the charging station. The cooperative's chairman, Ghanshyam Ghimire, said that the cooperative has built this station to promote sustainable energy by diversifying its services according to current demand. This is the first charging station in Banganga Municipality.
