A passenger in a jeep has died after a zinc sheet fell from the roof of the vehicle. The double-cab jeep bearing number Ga 3 Cha 4260, which was heading from Tamghas to Nisti, was traveling on an uphill road in Thanti Nisti, Musikot Municipality-2, when the zinc sheet placed on the roof fell.
The passenger, who was unconscious after being hit on the head by a sheet of zinc, died, said Narayan Prasad Adhikari, Chief Superintendent of Police at the District Police Office, Gulmi.
Police said that BK was declared dead at Gulmi Hospital at 3 am on Monday. The incident took place at 10 pm last night. The vehicle and the driver are under police control. Police said that further investigation into the incident is underway.
Sheets of zinc were placed on the roof of the jeep. Two passengers were sitting in the back of the vehicle (in the same place). Out of them, Min Bahadur's head was hit by the sheet of zinc. He died unconscious at the scene during treatment at Gulmi Hospital.
