The organization against human trafficking has rescued nearly 400 people from 40 districts. The Peace Rehabilitation Home, Nepalgunj, an organization active in combating human trafficking, rescued 395 people from 40 districts in the last fiscal year 2081/82.

This information was given at the organization's annual social audit program organized in Nepalgunj on Monday. The Home Ministry presented data on providing information and counseling to 9,379 people in the border area during the same period and rescuing four Indian citizens.

The organization, which operates under the slogan 'Our Call: Campaign Against Human Trafficking', discussed the performance, transparency and accountability of its activities through the audit. The program presented the achievements, challenges and plans for the coming year.

Addressing the program, District Coordination Committee Chairman Gyanendra Kumar Chaudhary said that the organization's efforts in controlling human trafficking are commendable. He said, 'Many girls have been saved from danger due to the presence and activism of this organization in the border area. However, there is still a lot of awareness work to be done.'

Similarly, Assistant Chief District Officer Umakanta Adhikari and Executive Chief of the National Human Rights Commission Dwarika Adhikari expressed their commitment to continue their cooperation with the organization. At the event, the organization's chairperson, Shanta Sapkota, said that rescue and rehabilitation were possible even in complex situations due to the continuous support of stakeholders.
