Mohan Basnet has been elected as the chairman of the Gulmi District Working Committee of the National Folk and Duo Song Foundation. The working committee was elected under the leadership of Basnet, who was previously the senior vice-chairman, informed Election Officer Bhim Neupane.
Basnet, along with senior vice-president Shreedhar Pokharel, vice-president Ganesh Adhikari, women vice-president Lalumaya Kunwar, secretary Lokendra Kunwar, joint-secretary Anil Khatri, treasurer Hari Khatri, joint-treasurer Humakant Pokharel, and members Dayasagar Panthi, Suman Panthi, Baburam Pandey, Himal Kunwar, Amrita Century, Savita Marasini, Vasudev Pokharel, Sari Pokharel, Rekha Kumal, Dhanendra Khatri, Gagan Singh Sinjali and Pushkar Pokharel have been elected as president.
The eighth session of the District Working Committee Gulmi was inaugurated on Saturday at Tamghas Lakurimanch under the chief hospitality of artist Pushkal Sharma, vice-president of the National Folk and Dohori Song Foundation Nepal. The closed session program began immediately after the conclusion of the inaugural session.
In the inaugural session, Toplal Aryal, outgoing president of the Federation of Nepali Journalists Gulmi, was honored with the Best Journalism Award and artist Himal Kunwar was honored with the Best Member Award.
