The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has launched an Inclusive Rural Development Project in Bardiya in collaboration with the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration.
The Korean government through the Inclusive Rural Development Project KOICA has launched a five-year initiative project in Bardiya with a total investment of 8 million US dollars.
The first meeting and inauguration ceremony of the Project Steering Committee of the Inclusive Rural Development Project, Bardiya was held in Nepalgunj. The meeting marked an important beginning for improving the living standards of the communities and the rural economy in Bardiya district through the improved agricultural value chain and eco-tourism value chain of the communities in Bardiya district, as well as for locally initiated, inclusive and sustainable development.
The 6 municipalities and 2 rural municipalities of Bardiya district and the Bardiya National Park introduced the programs to be implemented by the municipalities and the national park, as well as the responsibilities and commitments to be made by the local level and the national park for the successful operation of the project.
Nita Pokharel Aryal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration, recalled the long-standing friendship between Nepal and Korea and praised KOICA for its important role in supporting Nepal's development in areas such as health, education, agriculture and capacity building.
Country Director Kong Muhen expressed deep appreciation for the continued collaboration between KOICA and the Government of Nepal. He emphasized that this project reflects the shared commitment to improving rural livelihoods through inclusive and sustainable development.
