Police have arrested three youths from Sandhikharka on charges of involvement in arson and vandalism at the house of Lumbini Province Chief Minister Chet Narayan Acharya.

Gurudev Khanal, a resident of Bhumikasthan Municipality-1 and currently residing in Ghochekhola, Sandhikharka Municipality-2, Pushkar Poudel of Bhaktola, Sandhikharka Municipality-2, and Churamani Dhungana, a resident of Kur in the same ward, were arrested on Wednesday.

The Arghakhanchi District Court had issued an arrest warrant. Police Inspector Jhalak Prasad Sharma said that they have been issued an arrest warrant for the crime of criminal nuisance and will be punished according to the law after further investigation.

Chief Minister Acharya's house in Sandhikharka Hatari was vandalized and set on fire during the Gen-G protest on Bhadra 24. Chief Minister Acharya's wife Deepa Acharya had filed a complaint against 11 people, including Khanal, Poudel, and Dhungana, in the Arghakhanchi District Court in late Asoj, alleging that the house was arson and vandalized.

Acharya has filed a complaint in court against Madhav Bhandari of Ghochekhola in Sandhikharka Municipality-2, Madan Pariyar of Kur Behor, Binod Magar of Pulchowk, Kamal Ghimire, who works at the counter of the Western Bus Committee in Sandhikharka, Kushal Chundali of Dharampani in Sandhikharka Municipality-10, Arjun Chundali of the same ward, Sundar Bharati of Aluwakhola in Ward 3 of the same municipality, and Bishal Kandel of Sandhikharka, alleging that they were involved in the house vandalism and arson.

Acharya had mentioned the arrested Khanal, Poudel, and Dhungana in the Johari case as the main planners. The police have stated that the search for the remaining eight people is underway.

It is stated that the house was vandalized and set on fire in Johari, causing damage worth Rs 3.53 million and physical structures worth Rs 6 million. During the Gen-G protests on Bhadra 24, the party offices of the Nepali Congress, UML, Maoists, National Independent Party and National Janamorcha were vandalized and set on fire in Arghakhanchi, including the Chief Minister's house.
