A person has been found dead in a pond in Dharambasti, Bardaghat Municipality-14, West Nawalparasi.

The body was found lying face down in a public pond, said DSP Birdutt Pant of the District Police Office, West Nawalparasi.

During the investigation, the police have identified the deceased as 42-year-old Chhabilal Gurung of Gangabasti, Bardaghat-14.

Locals said that his body, which had been walking away from home since Saturday, was found on Sunday morning. The police have launched an investigation into how and why the incident occurred.
