National conference concludes, issuing 'Gen-G Charter'

A Gen-G conference has been held in Palpa to expand its ideas from the central, provincial, district and local levels to the ward level. The national conference held on Saturday has issued the Charter 2025.

The charter states that it will help end impunity, build a transparent, accountable and inclusive governance system as a shared commitment. The organizers said that it will help restore clean politics under the leadership of youth, prepare the basis for a corruption-free society and responsible state mechanism, and adhere to a completely non-violent and legal state. 

More than 300 people, including coordinators from seven provinces and Gen-Gs from more than 40 districts, participated in the conference. Umesh Bhandari, a Gen-G leader from Palpa, said that this was the first time a large Gen-G conference was held outside Kathmandu. Those who are leading in Kathmandu also participated, and he said that the charter has been issued to work in favor of corruption control and good governance in the coming days. 

The conference has helped unite Gen-Gs scattered outside Kathmandu, and the declaration mentions the vision, objectives and core values, rights and responsibilities, accountability and monitoring mechanisms. Pravesh Aryal, a participant from Syangja, said that transparency and corruption control, youth commitment are also in the declaration. 

Ghimire, who led Gen-G, said that every decision in the charter will be in the public interest and that the achievement of the conference will be to organize youth across the country in a common campaign against impunity, good governance, accountable politics, and corruption. 

The charter mentions constructive participation, a sense of service to the community and the nation, maintaining unity and tolerance, and practicing responsible leadership, said Sushil Basyal, a Gen-G leader from Palpa. 

Under the monitoring process, the charter includes ward, municipality, and district level reviews, coordination with provincial and central committees. Under the monitoring and coordination of service delivery and development work, a citizen complaint system, direct coordination, phone, QR, complaint box, and online form will be set up. Similarly, the charter mentions that the resolution will begin within 7 days, ensuring confidentiality and security.
