One person missing while swimming in Kaligandaki River, one rescued

One person has gone missing while swimming in the Kaligandaki River, while another has been rescued. Bakhan Shahi, 15, of Lamkichuha Municipality-1 in Kailali district, went missing while swimming in Ramdi, on the border of Palpa and Syangja, on Wednesday.

Police and local residents have rescued 16-year-old Biraj Neupane, who had gone swimming with Shahi, safely.

Local Govinda Shrestha managed to rescue Neupane alive by swimming, Ramdi police said. Police Inspector Kamal Pradhan of the District Police Office, Palpa said that local residents, Palpa and Syangja police are searching for the missing Shahi.

The incident occurred while Shahi was swimming in the Kaligandaki River in Ramdi with his friends. Police said that further investigation is underway into the incident.
