Pratappur Rural Municipality in West Nawalparasi has declared a public holiday on Kartik 11 on the occasion of Chhath festival.

Although the central government has declared Monday a public holiday, an additional day off has been given as the festival will also be celebrated on Tuesday. 

In a notice issued today, Municipal Chairman Umesh Chandra Yadav expressed his best wishes on the occasion of this festival of respect for reservoirs, rivers, the sun and mother power and stated that all organizations, schools and offices within the municipality have been given a holiday on Kartik 11. 

Meanwhile, in West Nawalparasi, the reservoirs and river banks have been decorated on the occasion of Chhath festival. The river banks have been cleaned and kept ready for worship. River banks and reservoirs have been decorated for worship in Parasi, Bardaghat, Sarawal, Palhinandan, Susta, Sarawal, Palhinandan and Sunwal municipalities of the district.
