A 24-year-old man was killed and two others were seriously injured when a scooter hit a truck while it was stopped at an army checkpoint, according to a police inspector.

One person has died and two others have been seriously injured in a scooter accident near the army check post in Thakur Baba Municipality-4 along the East-West Highway.
According to the Traffic Police Office Bardiya, a truck with the number Suppra 100 Kha 3799 stopped at the army check post and collided with a scooter with the number Bhe 12 Pa 1700 while it was submitting a time card.
Sudip Tharu, 24, of Barbardiya Municipality-11, died in the accident, said Traffic Police Chief, Police Inspector Sudhir Khadka. Ashish Tharu, 21, and Sudip Chaudhary, 24, of the same place, who were riding the scooter, were seriously injured.
Police said that the injured are being treated at the Municipal Hospital, Bhurigaun.
