The Banke administration has lifted the restricted area order issued on Asoj 18 after 15 days following a controversy that arose during the immersion of the idol of the goddess kept during Navratri. It issued a statement on Sunday stating that the ban was lifted from 10 pm.
In a statement issued by Chief District Officer Dharmaraj Joshi, it was stated that the peace and security situation in the district has now improved to normal and the declaration of the prohibited area has been lifted to create an environment for celebrating the great Hindu festival of Diwali with joy.
The administration had declared the entire area of Duduwa Rural Municipality Ward No. 6 and the entire area of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 14 as prohibited areas after the dispute, stating that it was necessary to maintain peace and security.
The prohibited areas were Suiya Piprahawa of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 15, Bhajipurwa, Janglipurwa, Loharanpurwa of Nepalgunj Sub-metropolitan City Ward No. 23 and the entire area of Narainapur Rural Municipality Ward No. 5. The prohibition order across the district was lifted from Sunday evening.
