Armed Police Force No. 31 Battalion, Bardiya, has seized and destroyed banned firecrackers while they were about to be sold at various checkpoints and businesses here.
The seized firecrackers include rockets, earthenware, and string bombs, and their value is Rs 300,000, according to the police.
The firecrackers were illegally imported from India three days ago.
The firecrackers were destroyed at the customs office in Bardiya on Friday. Armed Police Force Bardiya's Ganapati Man Bahadur Shahi said that the value of each illegally imported firecracker ranges from Rs 50,000 to Rs 6,000.
