The meat traders of Ghorahi have closed the meat shops demanding price increase. The meeting held on Wednesday of Khasi Masu Businessmen's Committee Ghorahi decided to increase the price of meat by 100 rupees per kg with effect from Saturday.

Committee chairman Aslam Qureshi said that the businessmen have been protesting since Saturday after the District Administration Office Dang instructed not to implement the said decision.

In other markets of the district, Khasi meat has reached Rs 1,000 per kg and the administration has stopped the increase in the same way in Ghorahi, he said.

He complained that the farmers are selling kasi in other markets instead of Ghorahi after getting prices in other markets and because of this, there is a shortage of kasi in Ghorahi. He said that the meat shop will be closed until the price hike decision is implemented.
