Construction on three sections of Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregonda road is slow

Since the construction work of Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregonda and Ratdanda-Amrai-Darling roads is not completed on time, local residents have been waiting for smooth movement for a long time.

Construction on three sections of Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregonda road is slow

The section of Gulmi, which is considered to be important in terms of connecting the tourist spot Resunga of Gulmi and Dhorpatan of Baglung, is in a dilapidated condition. Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregounda road of the district is narrow, unpaved and potholes are causing suffering both during winter and monsoon.

Recently, three contracts have been awarded in three sections at a distance of 4 km to pave a 3 km 270 m road under construction here. Through Road Division Office Palpa, there is the first section on the Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregounda road, the second section with the same name and the third section on the Ratdanda-Amrai-Darling road. While the first and second sections are connected, the third section is started with a gap of about 1 km in between.

In the first section, 2 km, 800 meters of road has been contracted to be paved. Deepak Vick, Engineer of Road Division Office, Palpa, said that the agreement was signed on 16 May 2082 to be completed on 20 June 2082. Om Namah Shivaya Construction Pvt. Ltd. Dang was entrusted with the construction of this section, which has been extended for another 4 months.  According to Vic, the engineer of the

office, 20 percent physical progress has been made in this section so far and 18 percent financial progress accordingly. The work of this section is currently at a standstill. Praveen Bhandari, owner of Om Namah Seway Construction Pvt. Ltd., said that the work was stopped due to the weather.

"We will come and work after Dashain when the weather improves," he said, "The work will be completed in three months after the start of the work." Deepak Vick, Engineer of Road Division Office, Palpa, said that an agreement was signed on 8th Kartik 2081 for 72 lakhs with New Best Construction and Suppliers to be completed on 30th May 2082. At present, construction workers are working by paying compensation. This section is nearing completion.

Then there is another contract about 1 km away. The name of this road is Ratdanda-Amrai-Darling road section. In this section, an agreement was signed with Nav Best Construction and Supplier for 71 lakhs on 8th Kartik, 2081, to be completed by 30th May, 2082. Engineer Deepak Vick of the road division office Palpa said that 91 percent of the work on this section has been completed. Construction businessman Chura Bhandari has done the work of these two sections.

After this, the work has been started from Penga, leaving it again in the middle under the name of Ratdanda-Amrai-Darling road section. Engineer Vic said that on 2082 Baisakh 21, Shubalakshmi/Suryodaya Construction/Seema JV was entrusted with the construction for 3 crore 39 lakh rupees to be completed by 20 June 2082. In this section, 2 km 800 meters of road is said to be paved, but currently only 40 percent of physical progress has been made. 4 months has been extended to complete the work. At present the work of this section is slow. Ashok Rayamazhi, owner of Suryodaya Construction, said that the work was not completed due to the short construction period.

'It has rained, the time is also short,' he said, 'Now the work will start immediately, the black paper will be finished soon.'

'When the budget was confirmed separately, it was made in sections,' he said, 'We are trying to complete the work quickly.' He said that some sections have reached the final stage.

Chief District Officer of Gulmi Bishnu Prasad Koirala said that Chaldi-Ratdanda-Indregonda road is a road with potential and should be widened.

'This road is also narrow, it is still under construction but it is not stuck,' he said.
