The condition of 25-year-old Vivash Tharu of Geruwa Rural Municipality-2 Rajipur, who went missing after being attacked by a crocodile, is still unknown. A crocodile attacked Tharu in the village attached to Bardia National Park on Monday in Geruwa river.
Missing in the river for 6 days, two elephants and a municipal motorboat have been mobilized to search for him. Sarojmani Paudel, Information Officer of the Park and Senior Conservation Officer said that two elephants have been mobilized from the park. "Tharu's condition is unknown till Saturday afternoon," he said, "Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police, Vanataria Range Post and park staff and local residents have been deployed for the rescue work."
Tharu was attacked by a crocodile when he went to feed water to the buffalo. Three other people who went with him are safe.
The park administration has asked people to be alert because there are crocodiles in the rivers such as Geruwa, Karnali, and Babai in Bardia.
