A four-year-old girl died due to lightning in Gulmi. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru informed that four-year-old Riasa Bik, daughter of 23-year-old Nersingh Bik and 22-year-old Suntali Bik of Madane Rural Municipality-5 Jyanpani, died.
According to the police, the daughter died and her parents were injured while they were sleeping when lightning struck suddenly at 11:30 last night. They are currently being treated at Pyuthan Hospital after general treatment by local doctors.
A team has been deployed at the scene of the incident under the command of Police Inspector Rewant Wali from the area police office, Purket Dah. 58-year-old Krishna Prasad Panthi of Dhurkaet Rural Municipality-7, 46-year-old Nirmala Khatri of Isma Rural Municipality-4 and 25-year-old Kalika Khatri of Isma Rural Municipality-5 were injured in Gulmi on Wednesday.
Similarly, two bulls of Durga Prasad Aryal of Malika Rural Municipality-4 and one bull of Chiranjeevi Aryal died due to lightning while grazing.
