During the Genji movement on August 23 and 24, vandalism and arson caused damage worth about 70 lakh rupees. The buildings of various organizations including four party offices were damaged in the district.

Similarly, Mitramani Tank Memorial Foundation has suffered the most damage. President of Rashtriya Janamorcha Pyuthan Gyamuram Neupane said that the building where the party office of Rashtriya Janamorcha and the station of Radio Pyuthan was vandalized and arson was damaged.

According to him, there has been a loss of 25 lakhs of Jan Morcha, 8 lakhs of Mitramani Tank Memorial Foundation and 7 lakhs of Radio Pyuthan. He also informed that the house was gutted due to the fire inside the room. Historical documents of the party have also been burnt and destroyed along with the belongings inside the office. 

According to Indramani Pokhrel, secretary of Shaheed Umeshchandra Thapa Memorial Foundation, there has been damage worth 22 lakh rupees in the foundation office. 

Maoist offices in Pyuthan-4 Jumri and Congress offices in Pyuthan-8 Bagdula were also vandalized and set on fire. Party Chairman Bishnu Kumar Giri said that all the belongings in the office were brought to the street and set on fire. "Since there is a party office in the rented house, there was not much damage," he said, "but all the items inside the office were burned." He said that the office suffered a loss of more than 4 lakh rupees due to arson.
