15 houses have been submerged in Susta in West Nawalparasi due to the flood in Narayani river. The water of Narayani river entered the Tharu tol of Susta rural municipality-5.

DSP Veer Dutt Pant of District Police Office West Nawalparasi said that the place where the water has entered is being blocked by dozers and that the flood did not occur due to the need to evacuate the settlements.

Surrounded by the Narayani River on three sides and the Indian territory on one side, this settlement is flooded every year after the Narayani River floods. Local Mansi Gupta said that the risk is decreasing as the water level in the river is decreasing.

As the risk of water entering the settlement increased, the residents of Susta were forced to build the dam themselves. The Narayani river has flooded due to rain since Tuesday. The flood has destroyed near Susta settlement of Susta rural municipality-5 in West Nawalparasi.
