The one thousand five hundredth birth anniversary (Mohammed Day) of Prophet Hazrat Mohammad Mustafa Sallallaho Alaihe Wasallam, the founder of Islam, is celebrated here on Friday.

The Muslim community in various areas including the headquarters Taulihwa, Chandrauta, Krishnanagar and Maharajganj celebrated Mohammad Day by holding rallies, meetings and social service oriented programs with bazagaza.

The rally started from the Buddha Padma Mavi playground in Taulihawa, passed through Nayatoll and reached in front of the district administration office via Gaudhichok Bhawani Bhikshuchok.

Muslim leader Rauf Ahmad Kha said that it is customary for Muslim families to keep green flags in their homes on Mohammed Day. He also said that on this day, there is a tradition of feeding and helping the poor and helpless.

According to Muslim religious leaders, Prophet Muhammad was born in Makkah, Saudi Arabia from the womb of Bibi Amina. He who was also the last messenger of Islam died in Medina at the age of 63.
