Dissatisfied groups have vandalized and blocked the district party office in protest against the removal of former SSP Vikramsingh Thapa, a member of the Congress Lumbini state committee, from the post of state committee member.

Thapa Sarmathak reached the Congress district party office in the headquarters and locked the Mulgate while shouting slogans against the state committee president Amarsingh Pun in the bazaar. Chairman Pun nominated Thapa and made him a member of the Congress State Committee.

Party district secretary Prem Bahadur Rayamazhi said that a group of 35/40 people vandalized 13 plastic chairs inside the office. District Party President Abdul Kalam said that it is not good to show anarchy in a democracy where the issues of dissatisfaction can be dealt with in a democratic way. "Something can be discussed in the party without understanding anything," he said. However, the law should not be taken into one's own hands.'

Thapa was sent a letter by Congress Lumbini Chairman Pun on 11th July that he was relieved of his post. However, after the publication of the letter on August 15, one side of the Congress was dissatisfied.

In the last parliamentary election, after Thapa was defeated as a member of the Lumbini State Assembly, the distance with the district party establishment was increasing.
