15 goats of the Himalayan Goat Breeding and Agricultural Farm in Musyan Majhiphant village of Sitganga Municipality-13 Simalpani have died due to leopard attack.

On Wednesday afternoon, 30 goats went missing while grazing goats in the forest near the farm. 15 live goats were found during the search till Friday. Simalpani police station said that 15 were found dead in the forest.  

Ghanshyam Adhikari, the owner of the farm, said that one of the injured goats was also dead. "Goats were always taken from the cage to the forest for grazing. On Wednesday, the leopard attacked them," he said. The goat found dead has wounds on its neck and back. He said that the goat was found dead in the forest about one kilometer from the farm. A leopard has attacked Deurali-Pare community forest near the farm. 

Two years ago, he said, he opened a goat farm with an investment of 12 lakhs. Along with goats, chickens and goats are also raised in the farm. Another owner, Vishnu Paudel, said that more than 35 lakh rupees have been invested in the farm so far. He said that 1,200 broiler chickens died in a single day in May alone. A group of 5 youths, including him, opened a farm and reared animals. Due to this continuous loss, farm operators have become worried.
