The Palpa-Butwal road section of Siddharth Highway has been blocked since 1:30 pm due to the landslides that occurred along with the rain. SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Head of District Police Office Palpa, informed that the road was blocked due to a landslide with stones and mud falling in Dobhan Siddhababa area under Siddharth highway connecting North-South.

According to the police, the problem occurred because the rain did not stop to remove the landslide in the area where the Siddha Baba Tunnel was constructed. The blocked road is not open yet. The road will be opened after the rain stops, as the stones will fall along with the rain and the soil with stones and mud will fall.

District Police Office Palpa has informed that there is a problem because the rain did not stop to operate the blocked road. As the rain did not stop, vehicles were stopped in Lower Siddhababa and Dobhan police station areas. The police did not allow the vehicles to run when it rained in the Siddhababa area so as not to damage the passengers and vehicles.

When the highway was blocked in Siddhababa area, hundreds of vehicles coming down from the mountains to the Terai and from the Terai to the mountains were stranded on the road. As Siddhababa area of Palpa is blocked, apart from Palpa, vehicles and passengers reaching Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Syangja, Pokhara, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang and other destinations have to suffer.
