The Palpa-Butwal road section of Siddharth Highway, which has been blocked since 1:30 a.m. on Friday morning, has been put into operation. The road was blocked due to landslides including stones and mud at various places in Siddhababa area of the Palpa-Butwal section.
SP Pawan Kumar Bhattarai, Head of District Police Office Palpa, informed that after the rain stopped, the heavy machine of China State Construction Engineering Corporation removed the landslide and opened the highway.
Palpa Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Nagdanda, Damside, Siddhababa in Dobhan Siddhababa area of the highway was blocked after a landslide with stones, mud and mud fell. There is a problem of stones falling on the roads due to continuous rain in this area.
The police said that there is a problem due to the stones falling from the upper area to remove the landslides including the stones that have fallen on the road. Landslides with stones and mud from the upper areas during rains have been a problem for years.
Police station Dobhan has informed that hundreds of vehicles that were stopped due to the road blocking, and hundreds of vehicles that came down from the hill to the Terai and went to the hill from the Terai were sent to their destination.
As the highway was blocked, apart from Palpa, vehicles and passengers going to Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Syangja, Pokhara, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang and other destinations were suffering.
