The Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal, has registered a charge sheet against two persons in the District Court Rupandehi for the offense of revenue leakage. Ram Bahadur Vick of Tilottama Municipality-16, Rupandehi and Kuldeep Singh, resident of Amritsar, Punjab, India, have registered a case against them in the District Court Rupandehi for stealing customs and dealing in gold jewelery without customs declaration and necessary documents.
Vivek Ghimire, Chief Investigation Officer of Revenue Investigation Office, Butwal, said that action has been taken against them in accordance with the Revenue Leakage Investigation and Control Act 2052. "In the investigation, it appears that Kuldeep Singh and Ram Bahadur Vick have evaded customs duty by evading 61 tola gold jewelery without necessary documents," he said. In the charge sheet of the case, the main accused Singh has been demanded to confiscate all the recovered gold jewelery and to pay a fine of Rs.
Ram Bahadur Vick, who played the role of Matiar by participating in the same act, has been asked to serve half the sentence according to subsection 3 of section 23 of the Act. Vick has been fined 52 lakh 54 thousand 206 rupees. Ghimire said that the total amount of fine and punishment demanded from both the defendants has reached 20 million 62 million 71 thousand 29 rupees.
