More than 50 meters of road washed away in Dobhan Kalirah of Palpa

What you should know

More than 50 meters of road has been washed away in Dobhan Kalirah of Palpa. Even though the road has been collapsing for years, the road from Siddharth Highway to more than a dozen villages of Dobhan and Kachal in Tinau Rural Municipality is closed at any time due to lack of control. Even now the road is flooded.

Ratna Vick of Tinau Rural Municipality-2, Dobhan Khursane said that as soon as it rains, there will be problems in road operation. According to him, the road in Kalirah has been flooded for years. "The road has been flooding for years," he said, "but no work has been done to prevent it." Landslides are falling on the upper part of the road with the incessant rain since last few days. It flows towards the river in the lower part. Locals said that if it rains, it will be difficult to operate small and large vehicles.

Kachal river flows in the lower part. The road is flowing towards Kachal river. According to local resident Himal Mahatara, more than 50 meters of the road has been washed away so far. "Until a few years ago, this road was 50 meters to the south," he said. But there is no one to think about this road.'

The lower part of the road has been flooded and vehicles have been operating in the winter by building a road in the upper forest area. The best cement quarry operating in Kachal has been repairing this road. Here every year the limestone miners dig the upper area (toward the forest) to operate the tipper and operate the vehicle. According to the locals, on one side, the forest is disappearing, while the flow from the upper part has not been stopped.

According to Rajesh Shrestha, former ward president of Tinau Rural Municipality-2, Dobhan, 5 years ago, President Chure-Tarai Madhesh Conservation Development Committee spent 30 lakhs on embankment. A spur was built by the committee in the river. He said that after the road was cut to the north because it was washed away by the Spur river, the process of road flooding did not stop. He said that if it rains, more roads will be washed away and we have to find alternatives for traffic operations.

This road is used to pick the best cement. Due to lack of vehicle operation, residents of villages such as Khursane of Dobhan, Okhaldhunga of Kachal, Arkhudi, Kachal Fanch, Paachhote, Hattimara, Deubari, Orlofan, Siwadikhark, Chilpokhari, Kurkur, Zarayo Pokhari are facing problems. Butwal is the market for residents of this area. There are 10 rental jeeps and one bus and other small vehicles operating here daily.
