Five passengers were injured when a jeep traveling from Ghorahi in Dang to Talabang in Rolpa met with an accident at Byangkhola in Madi rural municipality-2 of Rolpa on Wednesday afternoon.
According to the police, around 1:30 in the afternoon, a silver colored force vehicle with number Lu 1 J 3614 met with an accident. District Police Office Rolpa said that 5 of the 14 people in the vehicle were injured.
The vehicle fell down about 30 meters from Shahid Marg and met with an accident. After the incident, police inspector Rohit Singh Shahi, information officer of the district police office, said that 10 policemen under the leadership of chief police inspector Devsingh Bhandari of Ghartigaon area police office were deployed for rescue.
It is a preliminary estimate of the police that the car accident occurred because the Shahid Marg was slippery due to continuous rain. The rain has added to the difficulty of movement in most parts of the Shahid Marg, which is under construction. The injured passenger was sent to Rolpa District Hospital in Libang Reugha for treatment and the condition of all is normal, police said. The police have detained the driver and are studying the incident further.
