Rolpa Police has arrested one of the defendants who has been absconding for 15 years in the duty killing case. The police arrested the old man from his house and produced him in the Rolpa District Court on Sunday.
According to the police, the person arrested is 64-year-old Man Bahadur Wali, a resident of Jhajharkhola, Gangadeo Rural Municipality-6 in West Rolpa.
District Police Office Rolpa Spokesperson Police Inspector Rohit Kumar Shahi said that Wali was arrested as per the court order. The Rolpa District Court convicted Wali on 15th Baisakh 2068 and sentenced him to 3 years imprisonment. Wali absconded after the verdict was pronounced. He was arrested from his house on Saturday by a team led by Police Inspector Devsingh Bhandari of Ghartigaon.
According to the order and judgment of the court, Wali It has been submitted to the court for necessary action. Now he will pay the imprisonment as decided by the court. The court sent Wali to the district jail.
Meanwhile, during the previous fiscal year, 46 accused in various cases were arrested, said Police Spokesman Shahi.
