An 'Automatic Number Plate Recognition System' (ANPR Camera) has been installed at Parasi, the headquarters of West Nawalparasi.

A camera has been installed at the busy bypass intersection of the headquarters under the Bhairahawa-Bhumhi road section. Dhanpat Yadav, head of Ramgram Municipality, said that because the risk of accidents is high, state-of-the-art cameras have been installed to identify vehicles in various incidents and accidents.

The modern technology was installed after the vehicle ran away in the previous accident and it was difficult to identify it with a normal CC camera. It is expected that along with the identification of vehicles, it will also assist in the monitoring of the activities around the area and peace and security. This camera automatically recognizes the number plate of every vehicle and keeps track of over speeding vehicles. 

The surveillance of the cameras placed at the bypass intersection will be done by the district police office.
