A young man who had been missing since Tuesday was found dead after being attacked by a crocodile in Khauraha River near Thakurbaba Municipality-9 Hattisar in Bardia National Park.
Ajit Tumbahamfe, Head of National Nature Conservation Fund, Bardia, informed that the missing body of 19-year-old Roop Milan Tharu of Kailash, Madhuvan Municipality-1, was found on the bank of Khoraha River on Saturday after continuous search by the Nepal Army, Armed Police Force, Nepal Police and locals.
On Tuesday, three youths along with Tharu reached Khauraha River to swim. Two of them managed to get out of the river safely. For five days, two elephants of Bardia National Park, army motorboat, armed police divers, Nepal Police and others were engaged in the local search.
Park Information Officer and Senior Assistant Conservation Officer Sarojmani Paudel has confirmed that Tharu's body has been found. Min Thapa, ward president of Madhuvan-1, said that apart from Tharu's two hands and feet, other body parts were found.
