9 contestants from the Rashtriya Swatantra Party (RASWPA) have been seen for the by-elections to be held on 17th Kartik in Rupandehi-3. RSVP had requested applications from interested candidates internally through online. Those who are active in the RSVP from the related areas and outside have also shown interest in it.

The names of those who have applied have been published on the official page of the party on Thursday. The application deadline, which was open from July 7, ended on Wednesday. Shulabh Kharel, Pathavend Upadhyay, Dr. Lekhjang Thapa, Gyanu Poudel, Jit Bahadur Gupta, Kusum Maharjan, Rachna Chhetri, Punkumari Aggarwal and Madhu Prasad Aryal are there.  Among those who applied for

, Madhu Aryal, Gyanu Paudel, Kusum Maharjan, Sulabh Kharel and Dr. Lekhjung Thapa is the main competitor. Now one candidate will be selected from among the applications received through internal elections on August 15th. 

Regional President Aryal is involved in the teaching profession. He is the director of a school in Tilottama. He has a PhD in Autism from South Asian University. Gyanu Poudel is a cooperative activist. Similarly, Dr. Lekhjung Thapa is a neurosurgeon. Central member Maharjan Ruppandehi is the leader of RSVP. She was on the party's proportional list in the 2079 general election. By withdrawing her name from the list, she joined the race for candidacy.

Gupta was a RSVP state member and candidate for 2079. Chhetri is the district treasurer of the party. Kharel came from America for the election. He is chairman Ravi Lamichhane and vice chairman Dr. Swarnim is close to Wagle. 

Rupandehi-3 by-elections have been taken as an opportunity to expand the organization and re-build public opinion, the leaders have said. According to the party, the process decided by the party will be mandatory to become a candidate. Joint General Minister and in-charge of Lumbini Province Vipin Acharya informed that the candidates will be announced on the 15th after the internal elections are decided on August 12 and 13. 

In the general election of 2079, RSVP won the third position by getting 14 thousand votes proportionally in Rupandehi-3. On the direct side, RSVP candidate Jit Bahadur Gupta got 5 thousand 796 votes. About 90,000 votes were cast in this region, which has about 130,000 voters. Based on proportional and local level votes, Congress is seen as the first party in this region.
