The Palpa-Butwal road section of Siddharth Highway, which was blocked since 8 pm on Monday, has been opened for one-way operation since 4 pm on Tuesday. Landslides with stones and mud fell in more than a dozen places under the highway in Siddhababa area of Palpa-Butwal section.

Pravin Acharya, Head of District Traffic Police Office, Palpa informed that after the rain stopped, China State Construction Engineering Corporation's Hebi machine immediately tried to open it. According to him, the highway has been opened after clearing landslides. 

The highway was blocked since Monday evening due to landslides in Palpa Tinau Rural Municipality-3, Nagdanda, Damside, Siddhababa in Dobhan Siddhababa area. The highway could not be started due to continuous rain and landslides on the road. 

Police station Dobhan said that the road cannot be opened until the rain stops. There is a problem of stones falling on the road due to continuous rain. The police said that there is a problem due to the stones falling from the upper area to remove the landslide with the stones that fell on the road. 

The police said that the hundreds of vehicles that were stopped due to the road blockage and left for the Terai and from the Terai for the mountains were sent to their destination. Due to the blockade of Siddhababa area, apart from Palpa, vehicles and passengers reaching Gulmi, Arghakhanchi, Syangja, Pokhara, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang and other destinations have been suffering.
