The road blocked since Monday evening due to a landslide in Tinau rural municipality-3, Dobhan Siddhababa area of Palpa under Siddharth highway connecting north-south has not been opened yet.
District Police Office Palpa informed that the road which was blocked since 8 pm due to continuous rain and landslides could not be opened till Tuesday morning. Along with the rain, the order of opening and closing continued on Monday afternoon. The Road Division Palpa and Siddhababa Tunnel Project Office have informed that the landslide in Siddhababa area has not been able to be removed due to continuous rain.
The police said that the road cannot be opened until the rain stops. When the road was blocked, hundreds of vehicles coming down from the mountains to the Terai and moving from the mountains to the Terai were stranded on the road. As the Siddhababa area of Palpa is blocked, the vehicles and passengers reaching the destinations like Gulmi, Arghakhachi, Syangja, Pokhara, Parbat, Baglung, Myagdi, Mustang etc. will have to suffer. In this area, there is a problem of rock falling in the soft soil during the rainy season as well as during the dry season.
