The road has been blocked due to three landslides in an area of eight kilometers in Kaligandaki Corridor. The landslide in one of them has been removed, while the work of removing it in the remaining two places is ongoing.
According to District Police Office Gulmi, a landslide occurred in Kaligand Rural Municipality-1 Gargare, Ward No. 2 Mulk and Ward No. 3 Kanouta on Sunday evening. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru informed that the Gargare landslide has been removed and the process of removing the remaining two places is going on.
During this rainy season, the corridor of Kaligand is blocked from time to time. Because of this, passengers have to suffer a lot. People traveling in public and local vehicles operating through the corridor have been killed.
Since then, the blocked Ridi-Tamghas and Rudraveni-Wami roads in Gulmi have been opened, according to the district police office.
