The Kaligandaki Corridor and the Butwal-Burtiwang road, which were blocked due to the landslide in Gulmi on Sunday afternoon, have been put into operation. Deputy Superintendent of Police Ganga Bahadur Saru informed that the roads were operational after the landslides and obstacles were removed from both roads.
The Kaligandaki Corridor was blocked due to a landslide in Kaligandaki rural municipality-1 Gargare. Similarly, the Butwal-Burtiwang road was blocked due to the increase in the flow of the Dahare river in Satyavati rural municipality-6. Both the roads have been blocked almost every day due to frequent landslides and the black mud of the river being swept away by the river.
A bridge is being built across the river. It is expected that after the completion of the bridge, the frequent obstacles will be resolved. However, it seems that a long-term solution should be found for the landslides in Kaligandaki.
