A young man has killed his girlfriend in Nepalgunj of Banke.

33-year-old Prakash Sunar, who was living in Nepalgunj sub-metropolitan city-12 Belaspur, killed 19-year-old Nirmala Thapa. According to the locals, they had been living together in the room for a few years. 

According to Deepak Patali, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and spokesperson of Banke, Prakash escaped after killing Nirmala by wrapping a shawl around her neck and locking the room. A day after the

incident, Prakash called the deceased's family and informed them that he had killed Nirmala. After calling the District Police Office Banke on Friday morning and admitting that he had killed Nirmala, he was going to the police office to surrender, when the police arrested him near Bichbato Dhambozhi.

Based on the information given by the accused Prakash, the police reached the dera where they were staying and found the dead Nirmala's body.

Married Prakash has a wife, a son and a daughter in his house. Accused Prakash has given a statement that Nirmala is my younger wife. DSP Patali said, "The reason for the killing has not been revealed yet, we are investigating." 

Nirmala, a native of Dailekh, was a waiter at the Sunakhari restaurant at BP Chowk, Nepalganj, while Prakash was working at the local Swastik Cottage.
