The Siddharth Highway, which was blocked due to landslides at Bhalupahad in Syangja, has been opened in one direction. District Police Chief SP Dadhiram Neupane informed that the road, which was jammed due to frequent landslides and large potholes, was opened one-way using JCB.
Locals complain that when red soil is poured to fill potholes, travel is difficult due to slippery, muddy and dusty conditions. Locals allege that although the road has been paved and tarred under the direct supervision of the Road Division Office Pokhara, this section of the road, which has been standing still for the past few years, is standing still because of the contractor and the Road Division Office has become irresponsible.
The local Vishnu Paudel said that the youth here had to die because of the road. According to local residents, the district administration office has also become silent on this matter.
