Krishnanagar Customs Office, which is one of the 10 largest customs offices in the country, has collected about two percent less customs revenue than the target.

In the last fiscal year 081/82, 532.5 million 68 thousand 900 targets were given, but only 98.25 percent i.e. 52.32 million 25 thousand revenue was collected.

Krishnanagar Customs Officer and Information Officer Lekhnath Bhattarai said that the revenue collected in the last year 081/82 was 13.5 percent more than that collected in the previous year 080/81.

Mainly raw materials of cement industry, coal, ash, gypsum, raw materials of beer, malt, bottles and cans, raw materials of steel industry, sponge iron, rice, fruits and vegetables are imported from this customs point. Similarly, cement, plywood, clinker, rosin, herbs and handicrafts are exported from this customs point.
