The lockdown in the office of the chairman and chief administrative officer in Rurukshetra Rural Municipality has been opened after five days. According to the decision of District Security Committee Gulmi on Friday, Nepal Police and Armed Police Force Gulmi provided security and the staff of Rurukshetra Rural Municipality opened the lockdown.
In Rurukshetra, on 30th of June, the UML Rurukshetra Village Committee imposed a lockdown. There was a policy error regarding the purchase of digital boards in the school and it was locked due to non-payment of the purchased boards. In this matter, the rural municipality in Rurukshetra said that there was no intention to do wrong and the digital board installed in the school was not paid for without completing the process. Hariprasad Gyawali, spokesperson of Rurukshetra rural municipality, informed through a press release that it was wrong to lock down the matter being investigated by the constitutional body.
Chief District Officer Hari Prasad Gayre on behalf of Gulmi, being serious about the lockdown at the local level He said that it was decided to provide security to remove the lockdown to provide administrative services. According to him, the lockdown has been opened in the local municipality, he said. Rurukshetra rural municipality chairman Yadu Gyawali and chief administrative officer Lakshman Pandey were visiting the waiting room of the office and providing services to the villages.
Only on Friday, all the civil servants related organizations in Gulmi submitted a memorandum to the district administration office Gulmi asking to open the lock as soon as possible.
