Rupandehi District Court has achieved significant progress in the disposal of cases in the last financial year. According to the annual progress report published by the court, the rate of retrial has increased by 9.09 percent compared to the financial year 2080/081.

Last year, the court dismissed 55 percent of the cases, but last year, 64.09 percent of the cases were dismissed. The court organized an annual review program and informed about this. District Judge Ashok Kumar Basnet informed that 5 thousand 795 cases were dismissed last year out of a total of 9 thousand 41 cases which were registered from the previous year. He said that it was 64.09 percent of the total cases.

According to Judge Basnet, 4 thousand 960 cases were registered in the court in the financial year 2081/082. 4 thousand 81 cases were transferred from the previous year. According to him, the court set a target of 6,492 cases last year. "Currently, there are 3,246 pending cases in the court", he said. There are 155 cases within 18 months to 2 years and 3,822 cases within 18 months. The court imposed a prison sentence of 1,375 years, 5 months and 6 days in the year 2081/082. Still 3 thousand 498 years 4 months 1 day to recover. Similarly, 7 crore 97 lakh 91 thousand 153 rupees have been recovered and 94 crore 12 lakh 80 thousand 454 rupees are yet to be recovered.

The court has executed 2 thousand 967 judgments, while 1 thousand 740 judgments are yet to be executed. Similarly, out of 561 cases in the family court, 382 have been adjourned. Rupandehi District Court was operating family court only from the financial year 2081/082. 

According to Judge Basnet, the court has settled 125 cases through reconciliation. Out of a total of 1,615 registered cases, 1,401 have not been successful through reconciliation. 89 cases are pending. According to the court, in recent times, more cases of banking offences, check dishonor, drug abuse, vehicular homicide, divorce, and partial embezzlement are being registered in the district.
