Krishnanagar Municipality has distributed zinc leaves to 404 poor families to make the city area free of thatched roofs.

In a program organized in the municipality, Mayor Rajat Pratap Shah handed over zinc leaves to the residents of 12 wards on Wednesday. 

13 sheets of zinc, eight iron angle pipes, forks and nuts are provided per person. According to the municipality, material worth 70,000 has been provided to one person. 

In the city, 1000 people are living in thatched roof houses, 620 people have been provided with zinc leaves last year and this year. According to engineer Vinay Kumar Gupta, the focal person of the Fusco Chanamukt campaign program, the remaining 380 people will be provided with zinc sheets in the coming year and the city will be freed from the fusco roofs.
